usually rushing extra spirit+extra regen is a much better play since you won't be forced to hide away in the corner, but sometimes you need that quick boost of heal.
Good againts spirit damage plus it also gives you sweet bonuses for staying above 65% HP.
Buy this if heavy spam on lane, like lady geist
If you can't get too many kills/assists you can grab monster rounds to farm better.

Really good item on lash, you get a lot of kills/assists so this will help you get spirit burn and other items quicker, try to dely selling it for as long as possible.
Getting it faster isn't terrible right now

Upgrades to top off your damage
Use before ulting and as it's falling down start your ult, the projectile will land and people sucked in won't be able to escape.
Pretty good item, also lets you proc spirit burn much easier, don't have to buy it, but if you don't want to go for more ult oriented playstyle get it.
Usually not that useful, but if enemies have lots of way to escape your ult or they're at your base you can quickly sell, buy this and use your ult twice which can save games.
Counters
Get it if you want to go with vortex web/mobility heroes give you a lot of trouble.
Mainly good against abrams, usually not that good to keep in mid to late game
if enemies have gun damage that causes you trouble, also works great against infernus.
get this if you struggle against heavy life steal, but spirit burn is overall better at doing this job.
not a bad item if you're constantly getting bombarded with spirit damage.

Some tips i thought of
If you don't have your ult on T3 throwing people at walls can be a smart idea since it'll stall them in the air, giving you more time to ground strike. You can actually look around during your ult, so if you have time try and look around to lock in more people for your ult. Don't be afraid to use your ground strike to escape too, being able to quickly come down to the ground and change direction abruptly comes in clutch A LOT. If you need to stall in the air you can try to either wall jump couple of times or heavy melee, it'll make your descent a bit slower. Early game it's a good idea to use wall jumps, corner boosts or just high ground around the map to initiate fights, it'll give you that extra bit of damage which can net you a kill. Your ground strike (1) can scoop people from many places, if ground strike through an enemy they'll follow you to your landing position which can be really helpful against vindicta or talon.
