Description

A very wordy build influenced by playing a lot of Vyper. Feedback is welcome.

Item Build
Foreword

Vyper's Lethal Venom is powerful enough that it seems like you should invest in it. In my opinion, this isn't worth it. Focusing entirely on your gun and letting the last Lethal Venom upgrade inflict itself automatically has worked substantially better in my experience. Note: items are listed in rough order of priority, but you kind of just have to play it by feel.

Lane

Vyper in lane can be tough. Focus on playing passively, stealing souls, and whittling people down. Don't hesitate to be more of a support early on. Once you have the extra stam from Slither lvl 2, you can get more aggressive. It's usually worth it to jump people if they're low just to Venom them, then escape.

item
Close Quarters
500

Makes a big difference early on

item
Swift Striker
1250

Self-explanatory

item
Kinetic Dash
1250

Mobility and fire rate is dope.

item
Extra Health
500

Vyper is fragile as fuck and this helps our weapon damage along some more.

item
Sprint Boots
500

Slither level 2 gives you free stamina. Speed helps you resist movement slows, get away easier, & be harder to track sliding.

item
Quicksilver Reload
1250

Put on dagger. Hitting ppl is just a bonus here. The fire rate bonus and instant reload is the point.

item
Bullet Lifesteal
1250

Critical for mid-to-late game. Won't help much early on. Prioritize over Healing Rite if you're carrying more in lane.

item
Spirit Armor
1250

You will be more or less forced to take this at some point. Take Enchanter's Barrier early on if you're getting stomped by spirit dmg

item
Enduring Speed
1750

Movement slow resist is rad

item
Bullet Resist Shredder
1250

Bullet resist nerfs you tremendously. Inflicting consistent spirit damage can be hard with this build, though.

Lane Optionals

Healing Rite is usually not truly optional. Upgrade it to Healing Nova if your lane partner is pulling more weight than you and needs healing.

item
Monster Rounds
500

Try to get Close Quarters first. Helps support your bud and clear waves very quickly.

item
Active
Healing Rite
500

Sell shortly after leaving lane.

item
Active
Healing Nova
1750

Sell shortly after leaving lane.

item
Active
Slowing Hex
1750

Incredibly useful. Before you get insane damage in the mid-to-late game, you're going to struggle to finish people off. This helps.

item
Active
Decay
1250

Good for high-sustain heros like Abrams, but the second Lethal Venom upgrade already gives a healing redunction.

item
Enchanter's Barrier
1250

Helpful in lane & the early game. Once you get into longer team fights, Spirit Armor overshadows this.

Mid

Intensifying Magazine is the priority. After that, you just have to play it by feel.

item
Intensifying Magazine
3000

Incredibly critical. Probably the most important item in the build. Before this item, you're going to struggle with damage.

item
Point Blank
3500

This is deceptively useful. It is responsible for a big chunk of your damage, gives movement slow, & free stamina.

item
Burst Fire
3000

Sell Swift Striker if you need to. This is a (nearly) strict upgrade.

item
Fortitude
3500

Prioritize this if you're constantly needing to leave or avoid team fights due to your low health. The regen helps enormously.

item
Arcane Surge
4250

Not a priority. Frees up a orange/flex slot. The other bonuses are rad, too, like movement slow resist.

item
Surge of Power
3000

With Kinetic Dash/Arcane Surge & Quicksilver Reload, you have a 50% fire rate bonus.

item
Hunter's Aura
3000

Bullet resist is the bane of your existence.

item
Improved Spirit Armor
4250

Obligatory. Once nearly every death was caused by pure spirit damage, it's probably time to buy this.

item
Active
Debuff Remover
4250

You'll just need this sometimes, unfortunately.

Optional Oranges. Take Escalating Resilience if you really need bullet resist.

item
Active
Fleetfoot
1250

Speed is cool. Helps with sliding a little, which usually doesn't matter.

item
Berserker
1250

Experimental. You tend to take a ton of damage as Vyper, since you need to get very close to really hurt people.

item
Escalating Resilience
3000

I tend to use most of my flex slots on oranges and this acts as erzats bullet armor and helps with weapon damage.

item
Toxic Bullets
3000

Extremely easy to proc with your fire rate. I take this to counter teams with lots of sustain or a dominant M&K or Abrams.

Optional Purps

item
Active
Knockdown
3000

Helpful against your usual, hard-to-shoot suspects.

item
Active
Silence Glyph
3000
item
Active
Ethereal Shift
6000

You're fragile and people love to ult you because you do a lot of damage.

You can get a burst of extremely high fire rate with Surge of Power, Kinetic Dash/Arcane Surge, and Quicksilver Reload. Use it to absolutely melt people when given the opportunity.

Late

Lucky Shot is usually enough to close out the game.

item
Lucky Shot
6000

With your late game gun kitted out, this just demolishes people

item
Active
Vampiric Burst
6000

Helpful if you have trouble getting close enough to really deal damage in the late game by giving you a burst of sustain.

item
Siphon Bullets
6000

Games don't normally last long enough for this, but helps with your health. Easy to proc with your fire rate.

item
Inhibitor
6000

Never actually bought this, but the movement slow and damage nerf makes sense.

item
Diviner's Kevlar
6000

You're going to be using your ult a lot, hopefully, and this helps a lot with late-game resiliency.

item
Leech
7250

I usually don't bother buying this. Sell Bullet Lifesteal for it if you do.

Core

Have few or no flex slots? This is the most essential 4 items of each category.
