Description

UPDATED 3/20! – (Chrome’s) Rapid Haze is a gun-centric, gank focused roamer build that exceeds in lockdown kill potential. We rapidly – haha – scale our offensive, defensive, and technical skills with special care, creating an effective mixture of high damage, strong sustain, and helpful tools. Visit the full written guide in Deadlock’s official Discord server for further details and to ask any questions :)

Item Build
Super Early Game

ES → ER → RR → ES

item
Extra Spirit
500
item
Extra Regen
500

When taking consistent chip damage, Extra Regen is essential in keeping your health pool high and resistant to pressure.

item
Rapid Rounds
500

It's best to sell Extra Spirit or Headshot Booster before this when choked on slots.

item
Extra Stamina
500

If laning against a hero with large, telegraphed damage such as Geist Bomb, Viscous Splatter, or Warden Cage, buy this 3rd.

item
Active
Healing Rite
500

If you’re suffering from large chunks of damage or need to quickly regen in-lane after a tough 1v1, pick this up. Sell for Combat Barrier.

item
Headshot Booster
500

To put pressure on your opponent in lane. This is well applied in winning lanes to capitalize on momentum, and against lane opponents who are fond of standing out from cover regardless of advantaged / disadvantaged lane state.

Early Game

SS → CB → QSR (Dagger)

item
Swift Striker
1250
item
Combat Barrier
1250
item
Quicksilver Reload
1250

QSR is most effectively used at the end of your first clip to extend your damage whether against an enemy, tower, or camp. It can also be used to extend the buff of Fleetfoot’s extended mag to two clips.

Mid Game

Fleet → BL → BRS → BF

item
Active
Fleetfoot
1250
item
Bullet Lifesteal
1250
item
Bullet Resist Shredder
1250
item
Burst Fire
3000
Spirit Tech (Read Annotations) Runners ↓ Gunners ↓ Smoke T3 ↓

item
Active
Slowing Hex
1750

Our default ganking relic, an excellent tool for locking down enemies into your Bullet Dance or otherwise.

item
Active
Withering Whip
1250

If your opponent has high weapon damage output, use this during a gank to create a one-sided exchange. Best against Wraith, Mirage, McGinnis, Talon, etc.

item
Extra Charge
500

Purchase IMMEDIATELY when unlocking Smoke T3

Choice of Spike!

item
Lucky Shot
6000

Lucky Shot shows its strength against teams that are tightly-knit and less vulnerable, whether that be their comp or their playstyle. It struggles against high resists.

item
Crippling Headshot
6000

A strong relic to pierce through the pervasive Bullet Armor present in the current meta. Crippling Headshot can out damage Lucky Shot if the enemy team has built substantial resistances.

Priority Late Game Picks

item
Rapid Recharge
3500

An essential upgrade that should be bought whenever possible as it ultimately enables our survivability during important mid-late teamfights.

item
Inhibitor
6000

For Haze, Inhibitor offers multiple strong benefits. Unlike Leech, its effectiveness cannot be reduced and dramatically increases your effective HP in engagements. It can also be quickly spread to an enemy team during a large-scale fight to support teammates.

item
Active
Curse
6000

An effective tool to shutdown problem ultimates and secure kills against high value targets. Debuff Remover spam has made this relic not as effective, be aware of who can reduce its duration.

Additional Tech

No Order, Read Annotations!

item
Active
Debuff Remover
4250

An essential late game GTFO tool that can trade off with Smoke T3 if you’re in need of excessive cleanse (very common in this meta)

item
Active
Unstoppable
6000

If you are getting heavily CC'd in Bullet Dance or otherwise, I advise you buy this before the other T4 options. Unstoppable does a lot to keep us alive in Late Game.

item
Active
Metal Skin
3000

To combat rampant gun builds, especially those that thrive off of burst interactions (Bebop hook combo, Wraith Tele combo, Warden, etc.)

item
Active
Colossus
6000

A strong pairing with gun or Ult to briefly increase your sustain and keep enemies locked around you. If incoming CC is low, this can supersede Unstoppable.

Spirit Armors

item
Spirit Armor
1250

An essential purchase at some point, it’s important to sense when that is exactly in the match. Frequently around the 11-15 minute mark.

item
Improved Spirit Armor
4250

Another essential purchase, but can be picked up much later in the round. Any time after our T4 spike is ideal.
